Keanu Reeves Passes On ‘Akira’

1 min read

While there’s plenty to dislike about what we’re hearing the live action Hollywood adaptation of Akira will be about, there’s one less thing to dislike about it as it appears that Keanu Reeves has passed on participating in the Albert Hughes directred project according to JoBlo. After this occured on Thursday last week, word started getting out that the pre-viz department and the majority of the staff was let go, but Warner Bros. has issued a statement over it saying, “Production on ‘Akira’ has not halted or been shut down, as the film has not yet been greenlit and is still very much in the development stage. The exploratory process is crucial to a project of this magnitude, and we will continue to sculpt our approach to making the best possible film.”
