One of the things that novels and comics have done over the years is to take classics and shift them out of their normal settings and into the future. Some have been good, some have been horrible, but it’s still an interesting process to take a character out of their familiar surroundings and to try and wrap it in a new package while still trying to retain what made it last so long. Such is what the people behind Zorro Reborn will have to face as 20th Century Fox is developing this with the character in an apocalyptic wasteland scenario and it’ll seemingly excise many of the traditional characteristics of Zorro, according to MovieWeb.
Apparently, Zorro’s motivations will be different as he’ll be seeking vengeance instead of justice based on the screenplay by Lee Shipman and Brian McGreevy, the men behind the Dracula reboot being worked on at Warner Bros. under the title of Harker. So who will helm this Zorro update? Rpin Suwannath will be making is first appearance in the directors chair after being involved in the pre-visualization department of several big movies in the last decade such as X-Men and Mr. and Mrs. Smith.
