While the way the character of Jarvis has been adapted into the movies from his old comic origins doesn’t sit well with some fans, it is something that made sense when we saw it in Iron Man and it brought a smile to a lot of peoples faces who got the deal. The voice for J.A.R.V.I.S. in those two features was provided by Paul Bettany and he’s now confirmed that he will be returning to that role for The Avengers as well, which if they do create an Avengers Mansion of some sort, it would become his home in essence as it has been in the comics in varying forms.
MTV Splash Page got a bit more out of all of this when some fan questions were asked of him during a Priest press junket:
“Well, I just met with Jon [Favreau] one time, talked things out and I’ve recorded some lines for the movie, not knowing anything about it,” the actor said. “Then, one day, when ‘Iron Man I’ was released, my friends started to tell me: ‘You’re in ‘Iron Man’!’ and I kept saying ‘What? No, I’m not!’, and then, after I saw the movie, I’ve realized, that I’ve had quite an interesting part in this movie.”
“With ‘Iron Man 2′ it was kinda the same, but now I knew what I was working on. After I recorded another pair of lines with Jon, we would go to some place, have some drinks & fun. He’s really a nice guy!”
