2 min read

While originally planned to be out at the end of January before things changed with how Apple handles certain types of content transactions, Dark Horse is set to unleash their app for digital comics on April 27th. The new iOS app will be a free download in the iTunes store. The app will feature the first issue of Hellboy: Seed of Destruction already pre-loaded.

“Thanks to all of you who have signed up for the Dark Horse Digital newsletter so far, users will also be able to download the full first issues of Criminal Macabre, Abe Sapien: The Drowning, and Joss Whedon’s Fray for free! There are still two more comics yet to be unlocked and an iPad 2 up for grabs, so get your friends visit digital.darkhorse.com to sign up for our digital newsletter today!”

One of the big pluses to this new app is that what you purchase on your device will also be able to be read on any modern web browser. Dark Horse has also said that an android app is in development as well and the company intends to launch with “hundreds of our most popular titles, including Mass Effect, Serenity, Conan, The Goon, Hellboy, BPRD, and more!”
