Angela Bassett On ‘Green Lantern’

2 min read

With the transition of comics to film, there are always those that won’t exactly be able to replicate certain elements that make them work in one but won’t flow right in the other. One of those, at least as we’ve seen so far, has been in regards to the DC Comics character Amanda Waller, aka The Wall. While her animated character versions have been pretty spot on, the Hollywood model has been to find what you could call more normal sized people to play the part of the tough as nails woman who sees darkness around every corner and generally has every reason to believe that it’s true. After heading up the Suicide Squad and being involved in Checkmate in the comics and numerous other operations, she’s set to make the big screen this summer in Green Lantern.

With Bassett taking on the character, she’s hoping to parlay a role similar to what Samuel L. Jackson has done with the Marvel Studios films with Nick Fury in making him a small but essential part you want to see threaded throughout the movies. The folks at SuperHeroHype managed to get in a question with her about this at a press junket and she’s hoping that her character will appear in other DC Universe films.

Which interpretation do you think is the best of The Wall to date from all forms of media?
