‘Superman: Man Of Steel’ Potential Details Surface

2 min read

With Sucker Punch falling out of the way for a number of reasons, Zack Snyder is getting things rolling more with Superman: Man of Steel and there are things starting to leak out from there about it. The folks at Latino Review have put together a few things from different sources that covers a fair bit of ground about what we might see eventually on the big screen. The first is that we’ve heard from Diane Lane, playing the role of Ma Kent, saying that we’re going to see something of an origin story, but it may not be what dominates the film like so many of us hopes it wont. “It does cover the entire range of years, from infancy on,” she says.

Latino Review went to their sources and managed to pull out some interesting tidbits about what we might expect:

  • You will see JOR-EL and his wife, Lara.
  • Daniel Day-Lewis was looked at for JOR-EL and not the villain.
  • Krypton will not be a crystal planet like the Donner film; this Krypton will PROBABLY look like the Coruscant skyline from Star Wars.
  • The Kryptonian villainess is not URSA…Well sort of.  The villainess is FAORA.

Faora is what Ursa was based on though, so there are similarities between the two. Faora has a lengthy and altered history over the years because of how the DC Universe is worked, and she’s had quite a few appearances outside of the comics as well. We definitely recommend a little light reading over at Wikipedia about her.
