2 min read

Tom Hanks has signed on to star in a new feature according to Deadline. Hanks hasn’t been terribly visible in the acting world outside of the Toy Story movies where he gets to voice. He has a new feature set for this year, Larry Crowne, in which he’s writing, producing and directing, which has taken up much of his time. According to the piece, he’ll be taking on the the film as directed by the very interesting pairing of the Wachiwski’s and Tom Tykwer. Warner Bros. will be handling the US release of the feature and the plan is to begin filming in September.

Book lot summary: A reluctant voyager crossing the Pacific in 1850; a disinherited composer blagging a precarious livelihood in between-the-wars Belgium; a high-minded journalist in Governor Reagan’s California; a vanity publisher fleeing his gangland creditors; a genetically modified “dinery server” on death-row; and Zachry, a young Pacific Islander witnessing the nightfall of science and civilisation — the narrators of Cloud Atlas hear each other’s echoes down the corridor of history, and their destinies are changed in ways great and small.
