One of the up and coming actresses that we’re likely to see a whole lot of in the next few years is Jennifer Lawrence. She’s set to appear in X-Men: First Class this summer and was sought after for the adaptation of the novel Hunger Games, which has the potential to be a franchise if executed well. Having garnered an impressive list of nominations and quite a few awards for her work on Winter’s Bone that was out in 2010, she suddenly became the “it” girl for young actresses, with her expected exposure on the X-Men movie to only add to that as she takes on the role of Mystique, who was played by Rebecca Romaijn during the “modern day” incarnation.
Teen Vogue, via Latino Review, has a new interview with her where she talks about both of her upcoming movie projects:
When it came to working on X-Men: First Class, she said what you basically hear from most actors. “I had a blast. I was living in London for five months, and the whole cast . . . we all legitimately love each other. We got addicted to hanging out.”
What is encouraging is that she seems to get the character of Katniss for Hunger Games though, as she talks a bit about what makes the character appealing and how she relates to her:
“The cool thing about Katniss is that every fan has such a personal relationship with her, and they understand and know her in a singular way. I’m a massive fan too, so I get it. She’s incredibly powerful, brave, and tough—and yet she has a tenderness and complexity.”
