It was going to happen eventually, considering the comic that created the cult classic with the original The Crow movie spawned some TV work and a few sequels. The remake of The Crow is continuing apace under Relativity after a few ups and downs in the last few years, especially with director Stephen Norrington dropping out of the project after being the most high profile person attached to it. Word comes now from The Hollywood Reporter that Juan Carlos Fresnadillo has signed on to handle the remake. Fresnadillo is best known at this point for his directing duties on 28 Weeks Later, which was definitely a difficult chore considering how 28 Days Later was so well received. According to the report, the previous script written by Nick Cave is still in place, but a new writer will be brought in to work with the director on bringing everything together.
Original comic concept: Murdered along with his fiancee on Halloween eve by a vicious street gang, Eric Draven returns from the dead and led by a crow, seeks vengeance on the killers who wronged him.
I wonder if the reboot will stay closer to the comic or the first movie and the changes they had to make when Brandon Lee died.
