You never know what you’re going to get with a Lars von Trier film and this is so once again with his latest due out this year, Melancholia. The new feature has a solid cast to it with Charlotte Gainsbourg, Kiefer Sutherland, Alexander Skarsgård, Stellan Skarsgård, John Hurt, Kirsten Dunst and Charlotte Rampling starring as a group of people at a wedding have to deal with the fallout from the revelation that a planet has been hidden behind the sun for so long and now it’s coming back into orbit and may hit the Earth. That all comes across as the background to the psychological and social drama as the potential for the end of the world looms over all of them. Check the trailer below.
