Henry Cavill Talks About Prepping For ‘Superman’

2 min read

There’s quite a bit of time to go before things really start moving on the late 2012 release of Superman: The Man Of Steel, but that’s a positive as Henry Cavill has to get in his research and start preparing physically to take on the role. He got to answer some questions for MTV News while at WonderCon this weekend which has him talking about doing just that.

“I’m just picking out as much as I possibly can from the comic-book history,” he said, “because obviously it’s plastered across there as to who this man is. … It’s just picking up a general idea of who he is and working from there.”

Cavill had a screen test with Amy Adams before she was cast as well, citing her to be a fantastic actress. On the minds of fans though is just how much you can change about Superman before you lose what makes him who he is. “Superman is Superman, after all,” he said. “There’s only so much of a change you can make to that.”

Cavill talks briefly that he’s read the script and finds that this will be a really good role, one that he obviously hopes will help to propel his career forward even more.
