Rutger Hauer Comments On ‘Blade Runner’ Future

1 min read

The recent news about Blade Runner and what can and can’t be done about it certainly set fans afire with discussion, anger and interesting ideas that can be done. We’ve not heard all that much from those involved in the original film however and one of the first we’re hearing from is Rutger Hauer, which is surprising considering he’s as busy as he is with nine film roles due out this year alone. The LA Times managed to pin him down about things though and get his thoughts on it.

“If Christopher Nolan would be on it I’d say, ‘All right, go for it!’” said Hauer. “But otherwise you can’t do it. ‘Blade Runner’ is such a unique film. How do you describe a diamond? I don’t think you should ever touch it again.”

He certainly echoes the sentiments of a good number of fans with that statement.
