Joseph Gordon-Levitt ‘Dark Knight Rises’ Role Revealed

1 min read

The casting of Joseph Gordon-Levitt in Dark Knight Rises has led to a fair bit of speculation from the start about who he would play, but the safe and strong bet came together with a confirmation via Variety that the actor will be taking on the role of Alberto Falcone for Christopher Nolan’s next Batman film. The character has some history in the Nolan films with his father being the crime boss Carmine Falcone from the first movie which was in his own way very instrumental in creating Batman. With the comics world, he’s got a reputation of his own as Alberto is known as The Holiday Killer. You can read an extended view of the storyline here.

In addition to this news, Variety is also revealing that another actor set to join the cast is that of Juno Temple, who has gained a bit of a reputation this year for work she has with some Sundance films. Supposedly she’s being eyed for the role of a street-smart Gotham girl.

The Dark Knight Rises is set for a July 20, 2012 release.
