It’s been one of the worst kept casting secrets of the new Superman movie, which is now using the Man of Steel working title much more in reaching out to the community, but Kevin Costner has indeed sealed the deal on the role of playing Jonathan Kent. He’ll be playing one of the instrumental character roles that helps to define Clark Kent, played by Henry Cavill, alongside Diane Lane as Martha Kent.
There’s still a number of casting announcements to make, particularly as there’s been some shadiness over who the villains will be, as well as getting in Lois Lane for a bit of a role as well, so Zack Snyder and Warner Bros. have plenty of material left to tease and tantalize fans with before shooting even begins, which will have to start soon to meet the December 2012 release date.
