Pixar’s ‘Brave’ Gets New Theatrical Release Date

1 min read

Shifting release dates are the norm when a movie is at least a year out since you have to adjust things depending on what other studios slide into the same or similar slots and Disney / Pixar has done just that as their 2012 release of the new original property Brave has gotten a new date. Originally slotted for July 22nd, 2012, it’s not been moved to July 15th. The new feature will have a solid cast of actors providing voices for it with Reese Witherspoon, Billy Connolly, Emma Thompson,  Julie Walters, and the good luck talents of John Ratzenberger who has been in every Pixar movie since Toy Story.

Plot summary: The impetuous, tangle-haired Merida, though a daughter of royalty, would prefer to make her mark as a great archer. A clash of wills with her mother compels Merida to make a reckless choice, which unleashes unintended peril on her father’s kingdom and her mother’s life. Merida struggles with the unpredictable forces of nature, magic and a dark, ancient curse to set things right.
