There hasn’t been too much real Thor news after the trailer landed outside of a few posters being revealed and a theaters standee, which is why people flocked to the French trailer just to see a few more seconds of previously unseen footage. MTV’s Splash Page caught up with Chris Hemsworth recently and managed to get a few Thor related questions in now that he’s seen the screening of the film and they naturally try to nudge in an Avengers question as well, though we all know how that’s going to play out already.

“I have [seen ‘Thor’], yeah. It’s fantastic,” Hemsworth told MTV News. “Being that close to something, it’s often pretty hard to watch yourself, but the film in so many ways is so impressive that I was swept along with it like an audience member, and that’s a pretty good sign.”

Asked about the weight of carrying the character’s legacy, Hemsworth indicated that the mantle of Thor is no small thing to carry — both physically and historically.

“Literally, the costume weighed god-knows-how-many pounds. It was heavy,” laughed Hemsworth. “And this is a character who has a ton of history — 40 or 50 years’ worth — and a built-in fanbase. He’s a god and a lot of other things that become overwhelming.”

“At the same time, it’s a dream,” he added. “As a kid, you run around the house pretending to be a superhero, and now to be doing it as a job, I feel very lucky.”

As for those pesky rumors that Thor will have a rematch against Loki in Marvel’s 2012 superhero team-up event “The Avengers,” Hemsworth wasn’t giving anything up.

“I’m hearing rumors, too,” he said. “Marvel — the safehouse they’ve got — is very protective of what we say and what we don’t say, so I have to keep tight-lipped about it.”
