Fans haven’t been kind to the Green Lantern suit since it was introduced and the trailer in general has received a whole lot of grief. Empire Magazine managed to snag Reynolds for a bit and questions him on this since it’s been one of the biggest gripes in a sea of many gripes stemming from the trailer to see what he has to say about it.
“It’s not ‘The Dark Knight.’ I don’t put the suit on and my voice drops several octaves,” said Reynolds. “The suit is powered specifically on his will, his emotion, his creativity and his imagination. I love that.”
He added, “It has to be virtual rather than spandex. This is a suit from an alien planet.”
Plot summary: “In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, a small but powerful force has existed for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps. A brotherhood of warriors sworn to keep intergalactic order, each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants him superpowers.
