Buddy pairs have made sizable waves over the years in numerous films, but two that have really struck a chord across three films and other avenues is that of Tim Allen and Tom Hanks as Buzzy Lightyear and Woody from Toy Story. Disney is obviously keen to hold onto that kind of magic now that Toy Story is done as a trilogy of main features by pairing the two together for the live action Jungle Cruise movie, according to Deadline New York. The film is being inspired by the them park ride of the same name and Roger Schulman has been brought on to handle the script. The feature has some magic behind it already as the producers behind the just Oscar nominated The Fighter are involved.
A film based on the Jungle Cruise ride has been in the works for a number of years but hasn’t managed to get very far but with these two being sought out to bring it all together, it would bring in a whole host of talent that would want to be on board. With Tim Allen also making a return to TV with a new pilot being filmed this year, he’s ready for a new kind of return to the small and big screen.
