Archie Comics have gone through a lot of interpretations over the years and plenty of parodies but few of those from the fan film front really go to this level. Produced in Vancouver as a response to so many properties going back to the grim and gritty angle for things that don’t really need it, Cross Eyed Bear Comedy hits all the right notes in showing just how it would happen. Yet, strangely enough, even though you know it’s wrong, you want to see it come true as a full on feature film this way.
Trailer summary: Riverdale was produced with the help of almost 100 Craigslist volunteers from the Vancouver film industry. We produced this and the 10 other comedic videos on a budget of $3, 500 over a weekend. The Craigslist and random nature of this production brought the director and his girlfriend together. It also united the executive producer’s wife with her long lost friend/boyfriend when she recognized him playing the character of Moose.
