Chewbacca Set For Star Wars: The Clone Wars

2 min read

While we’ve seen a few characters familiar to the original trilogy world of Star Wars in Cartoon Network’s The Clone Wars series, a new one is set to make his appearance this season with Chewbacca undergoing the digital process according to the NY Times. The character is set to appear in the two part season finale with Peter Mayhew returning to the character by providing the voice for it. The season finale is still one that has had little detail revealed about its plot, which starts airing on April 1st, but some has surfaced over the last couple of weeks.

“Chewbacca cross paths with Ahsoka Tano, the Jedi apprentice to Anakin Skywalker (a k a the future Darth Vader),” is about all we know at this point outside of the episode titles being “Padawan Lost” and “Wookie Hunt.”

Mayhew talks a fair bit in the article about his past with the character, the different suits he wore and how this one was obviously easier since it was all about doing the voice acting. “I always reckon that I’ve got the best job in the world,” he said, “purely because I know what I’m talking about, it’s a pleasure to talk and you get paid for doing it. So that can’t be bad, can it?”
