The Grimm’s Fairy Tales device is being adapted into a TV series in an interesting way and the pilot has cast David Giuntoli as the lead for it, according to Deadline Hollywood. The NBC drama is one of several pilots that are being bandied about at the moment to see what sticks and is one that has a potentially good hook to it that could keep mainstream viewers interested while building on those who like the elements of the fantastic as well. Giuntoli has been acting since 2007 with a variety of appearances in shows with small parts like Veronica Mars, Hot in Cleveland, Cold Case and the Ghost Whisperer. He’s also seen regularly as the host of the AT&T U-Verse show “Buzz”.
Plot concept: Grimm centers on Nick Burckhardt (Giuntoli), a good-looking detective who starts to see humans as beast/animals and discovered that he has a legacy – to protect “humans” from these beasts.
