Anime Limited has announced that they’re bringing the original Mobile Suit Gundam series to Blu-ray in the UK this year with the 43 episode set being split into two sets that will see release in October and November 2015. This marks the first time this series will be released in the UK.

The panel the company held delved into it a bit, as you can see from the image below, but it also brought out a good confirmation. Anime Limited’s deal with Sunrise with this is “effectively the same” as what Right Stuf is doing in North America, meaning that they have access and intent to release as much Gundam as possible across all the franchises. Pricing and firm dates for the original series will be coming soon and will make for a busy and exciting fourth quarter for the company.

The original Mobile Suit Gundam series was broadcast back in 1979 and has seen release in North America through Bandai Entertainment on DVD, first in dub-only edited form and later in bilingual form.

Plot concept: In the year Universal Century 0079, humanity lives in space colonies called Sides. Side 3, the Principality of Zeon, has declared war on the Earth Federation. After the intial fighting, an 8-month stalemate occured. However that stalemate breaks when Amuro Ray stumbles into the Gundam, the Earth Federation’s secret weapon. Now Amuro and the crew of White Base must stand up to Zeon in order to end the war.
