Technical:
This release has a nice wraparound cover showing a couple guys walking the streets of a magical red light district. Magical because the prostitutes hawking their wares include elves, willow-the-wisp, catgirls, cowgirls, cyclops, and even faeries. The inside of the book’s covers also has a wraparound effect with white text and pictures on solid black backgrounds. It gives the book a great presentation, along with two color pages to kick the book off.
Masha’s comical art style with disproportionate characters and hilarious facial expressions fits Amahara’s story perfectly. It is all in good fun and not meant to be taken too seriously. Overall a great production from Yen Press.

Stunk is a regular human adventurer and his buddy, Zel is an elf. Adventurers in their world make money by either taking tasks or by posting knowledge and having people pay them if the knowledge proves helpful. Zel and Stunk make money doing both. But they aren’t just any old adventurers, they are actually huge perverts! Being a couple of young single guys, they pretty much blow all their cash on food, drinks, and prostitutes!
One day these two degenerates get into an argument about who was better to have sex with, an old human woman or an old elf girl. Stunk is all about the elf girls since even at hundreds of years old, they still look like a twenty-something-year-old. Zel thinks old elves are disgusting because their magical mana is rotten. He prefers old humans because they are experienced and their mana is peaked. In no time, their argument brings in a dogboy and a halfling. The four of them rate sex with humans versus elves, argue about it, and then lazily post it on the adventurer board and go back to drinking.
The next day, the host of that guild plunks down a bag of gold between Stunk and Zel. She says it is a payment from all the adventurers that found their Interspecies Reviews helpful.
Lightbulb!
The realization that they can get paid to visit and review brothels kicks these two pervs into high gear and they hit the red light district. Thus, begins the sexual misadventures of these two. For better or worse, they are out there to try and have sex with every type of creature running a brothel. Throw in their angel buddy and plenty of hilarity ensues! But, will they eventually try sex with someone that will be their undoing? Like a succubus, or demon, or fire dragon? Time will tell!
In Summary:
This book is hilarious, but it is not for everyone. It might be the most mature book Yen Press has released to date. Basically, Interspecies Reviewers follows some guys around as they visit monster brothels is just silly enough to work. Partly because the guys include a human, elf, angel (apparently they are all futanari in heaven!), and usually whatever random fourth buddy around at the time. So, the focus is on what it is like to have sex with whatever monster they are reviewing. But throw in some side adventures, monster politics and class discussions, and the brothel that gives the guys a magical potion to turn them into women, and you have a fun read. I have no idea how many chapters the creators can keep going, but I look forward to the next volume!
