Aniplex USA revealed that the Record of Grancrest War anime series will be getting an English language dub and now the home video release plans are set. The distributor has set two Blu-ray box sets for it that covers the twenty-four episode run. The sets will be released on April 23rd, 2019 and August 20th, 2019 priced at $149.98 with a retail price of $119.98. The bilingual sets will include a deluxe rigid box and booklet for each along with web previews and clean opening and closings for each set.
Mamoru Hatakeyama directed it based on the series composition by original creator Ryou Mizuno and writer Satoshi Yano. Hiroshi Yakou served as the character designer and A-1 Pictures handled the animation.
The Japanese cast includes Reina Ueda as Aishera, Yuuichi Nakamura as Ervin, Natsumi Takamori as Priscilla, Ai Kayano as Marine Kreische, Takahiro Sakurai as Virale Constance, Satoshi Hino as Lassic David, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Moreno d’Ortous, Yuuichi Iguchi as Alex Deux, Wataru Hatano as Mirza Kooches, Minori Suzuki as Emma, Megumi Nakajima as Luna, Yuuko Kaida as Margaret Odius, Chika Anzai as Laura Hardly, Yumi Uchiyama as Helga Piaroza, Kaede Hondo as Coleen Messala, Satoshi Mikami as Aubest Meletes, Ayane Sakura as Layla, and Ari Ozawa as Cammy.
The English language dub has Chris Cason directing it and the cast includes Brandon Winckler as Theo Cornaro, Jeannie Tirado as Siluca Meletes, Imari Williams as Lassic David, Greg Chun as Villar Constance, Lucien Dodge as Moreno Dortous, Kaiji Tang as Milza Kuces, Alan Lee as Irvin, Allegra Clark as Aishela, Lauren Landa as Margaret Odeus, Erika Harlacher as Marrine Kreische, Aleks Le as Alexis Doucet, and Kayli Mills as Priscilla Farnese.
The work comes from Ryou Mizuni with artwork from Miyuu that began back in the summer of 2013 and currently has ten volumes in print.
Ryou Mizuno has a solid following to be sure as the creator of Record of Lodoss War and Starship Operators.
Plot Concept: On a continent ruled by chaos, the Lords have the power of a holy seal that can calm the chaos and protect the people. However, before anyone realizes it, the rulers cast aside their creed of purifying the chaos, and instead start to fight each other for each other’s holy seals to gain dominion over one another.
