With the ICv2 charts being broken out a bit and with the manga getting its own chart, they also have one that focuses on superhero/adult graphic novels. This lets us get a feel for what the ‘mainstream’ comics fan is grabbing these days in this form through the BookScan ranking system. For September, Marvel Comics comes out well with three titles in the top ten and all of them int he top three – which includes the third volume of the current Star Wars book (that’s ending shortly, of course). Infinity Gauntlet continues to do well while the third slot goes to another Star Wars book with Thrawn. They also have the first Ms. Marvel book in the top twenty.
DC Comics gobbles up more slots overall with eleven titles if you include Vertigo Comics with Watchmen still showing its place. A lot of the titles at Batman related, which is no surprise, but at least V for Vendetta shows up again.
Dark Horse charts with a new Hellboy omnibus and some Overwatch while BOOM!goes for some Power Rangers.
