2 min read

Fans of the Tantei Opera Milky Holmes franchise have a bit more to look forward to as a new single is due out this week and that one of the songs on it will be the theme song for a new special due out later this year. Tantei Opera Milky Holmes: Saiko no Aisatsu doesn’t have any details yet but it’s expected to largely retain the same staff and cast as we saw with the previous TV series, which was the fourth one. There have been four specials previously and a movie by JC Staff.

The last series was directed by Hiroshi Nishikiori with Hirokazu Hanai serving as the assistant director. Character designs were done by Mariko Fujita while scripts were handled by a large group that includes Tenga Komuro, Go Zappa, Shogo Yasukawa, Takayo Ikami, Hideki Shirane, Hyōichi Yokomizu.

The series stars Suzuko Mimori as Sherlock Shellingford, Sora Tokui as Nero Yuzurisaki, Mikoi Sasaki as Hercule Barton, Izumi Kitta as Cordelia Glauca, Yoshino Nanjou as Kokoro Akechi, Aimi as Kazumi Tokiwa, Ayasa Itō as Alice Myojingawa and Emi Nitta as Marine Amagi.

Original concept: Sheryl, Nero, Elly, and Cordelia are the most popular students at Holmes Detective Academy, because of the many cases they’ve solved with their Toys and teamwork. The students and the people of the Detective City Yokohama all look up to the members of “Milky Holmes”, as they’re called. But on a dark and stormy night, during a battle with their rivals “The Gentlemen Thief Empire”, they lose their toys, and their fate undergoes a dramatic change…
