“We Got Married”

What They Say:
Hinowa Tomari, a completely ordinary high school boy, is summoned by his homeroom teacher one day and informed that he’s been selected to become the wife of a mysterious creature called Kanenogi. Despite their uncertainty, the new couple registers their marriage… and starts a surprisingly happy new life together?! And thus the sugary-sweet married life of the soft, fluffy Jingai-san and the ordinary high school boy begins!

The Review:
Content: (please note that content portions of a review may contain spoilers)
With the basics put into play the last time around, we saw how Tomari ended up becoming the wife of the Kanenogi. It was kind of skited around in a way in order for it to be fleshed out here and all of this is just because of the 90-second running time of the show that had it work its structure in this way. Seeing the meeting and how Tomari handled the news was was certainly fun as is the way Kanenogi continually just puts its mouth over his head and drools all over. The bond that the two could share is starting to get shown as well with the softness of Kanenogi’s fur and how drawn to it Tomari is, which even he realizes is a dangerous path to go down.

In Summary:
While the first episode spent half it running time on the opening sequence, this one spends almost its entire three-minute running time by engaging with the story itself. That works out in its favor much better than the first episode as we get a lot of material for the new couple at school and at home, leaving you wanting to see a bit more than you might have before. I’m really just curious as to what the deal is with Kanenogi because I want there to be a good story behind this but I’m also really enjoying the simplicity of Tomari’s reactions and how he’s understanding them.
