Fox is looking to eke a bit more coin out of the Deadpool 2 film as they’ve announced a PG-13 version will be out in theaters for the Christmas season. That there’s what’s basically a TV edit isn’t a surprise but putting it into the theater is. Fox itself hasn’t said whether there’ll be new footage but there’s an amusing Tweet out of Ryan Reynolds that gives hint that we might get some extra silliness in, which is what will be the draw for the die-hard fans (and get them to pick up another home video release that will likely be created by this).

The first film was a shockingly huge hit for the studio when it arrived in February 2016 as it raked in $783 million worldwide and broke some records for an R-Rated film. The sequel currently stands at $734 million worldwide.

Directed by David Leitch, it stars Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, Zazie Beetz as Domino, and Josh Brolin as Cable.

Original concept: After surviving a near-fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry’s hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor – finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World’s Best Lover.
