We learned back in July that Makoto Fukami and Seigo Tokiya’s Magical Girl Special Ops Asuka property (which Seven Seas is already releasing in English) is on track for an anime adaptation. The show is planned for a January 2019 debut in Japan and now some additional casting has been revealed. The new additions ot the show include:
- Eriko Matsui as Mia Cyrus
- Ayana Taketatsu as Chisato Yonamine

暗く、虚ろな目をした沖縄の少女・与那嶺ちさと。交通事故にあい母親と自身の右足を失ってしまう・・・・・・。彼女はなぜ魔法少女になったのか、またあすかたちとどのように絡んでいくのか。気になる点が多いキャラクターです。

The previously announced Japanese cast includes:
- Aya Suzuki as Asuka Otorii
- Akira Sekine as Kurumi Mugen
The series is directed by Hideyo Yamamoto based on the series composition by Norimitsu Kaiho. Yoko Suzuki is handling the character designs with LIDEN FILMS producing the animation.
The series began its serialization in Big Gangan in the summer of 2015 and has eight volumes out so far. Seven Seas bring out the series in print in North America as single volume editions with the first volume released on November 28, 2017 for $12.99 USA / $14.99 CAN.

Plot concept: When the Earth is threatened by the sudden appearance of undead creatures, a group of young women blessed with powers from a mysterious source rose to defeat them. Now, after three years of apparent peace, the same malevolent creatures have resurfaced. Five magical girls are once again conscripted to war as the Magical Girl Special-Ops force, to defend mankind from an unholy nemesis.
