We learned back in February that CoMix Wave Films and Haoliners were teaming up to bring out an anthology film called Shikioriori this summer. The film came out with an August 4th, 2018 debut as well as a pickup on Netflix under the name Flavors of Youth – International Version- that got streaming at the same time. With that all set and done, a home video release has now been released on DVD that was pretty under the radar. It came out in Japan on September 5th, 2018 priced at 3,240 and it includes English subtitles. Extras include a director interview with all of them, a music video, and a trailer collection.
It’s being done as three shorts that focus on elements of food, clothing, and shelter. Yoshitaka Takeuchi is directing the Chiisana Fashion Show short while Li Haoling is directing Shanghai Koi. Jiaoshou Yi Xiaoxing is directing Hidamari no Choshoku, his first work in animation after dealing in live-action.
The cast includes Taito Ban as Shaomin, Minako Kotobuki as Irin, Haruka Shiraishi as Lulu, Hiroki Yasumoto as Steve, Takeo Ōtsuka as Rimo, and Ikumi Hasegawa as Shiaoyu.
