The summer season is inching closer to wrapping up and there’s that sense of change in the air – ably aided by the fact that the temperature here dropped twenty degrees in the last day or so. We’re still mired in the world of shorts and even got a skip week with One Piece so it’s a touch quieter than normal on the anime side.
I did manage to take in some for-pleasure anime viewing, however. Thursday was the subtitled one-night event for Perfect Blue and it was an absolute delight to see that on the big screen for the first time. I haven’t seen it since the awful DVD release came out decades ago so it was great to get such a clean and wonderful presentation for it.
I also took a little me time to watch my PS3/BD combo edition of the Macross: Do You Remember Love? movie. This thing is still magical for me and I can’t get over how great it looks. The nostalgia and all the feels that take me back to my teenage days.
