The Weekly Anime Discussion Post For August 26th, 2018

2 min read

The past week in anime was a fairly quiet one and I’m not gonna complain too much about that after so many weeks of conventions over the last few months. For myself, I’m still largely working through the short-form shows of the series and One Piece while also burning through a season a day, roughly, when it comes to home video releases. I didn’t get to dive deep into the archives this week with being pulled in other directions but I did take a little time to sample my Utawarerumono Japanese Blu-ray set that I adore so much. This series just clicks for me in a huge way and I grabbed that set before Blu-ray’s were really being pushed much – or well – by many studios.

This week saw some new arrivals! Sentai Filmworks has a few more of their September releases in my hands now to start digging into that I’m excited about. I’ve never seen the 1984 Glass Mask series and the recent Scum’s Wish series was something I saw the first one of and wanted more. They’ve also got a license rescue withGunparade March from the Media Blasters catalog as well as the first Negima!series that Funimation had and didn’t renew.
