‘Aquaman’ Trailer Finally Surfaces

1 min read

With a planned December 21st, 2018 release, it really does feel like it’s cutting it close in delivering the first Aquaman trailer – especially as other trailers at SDCC are focused on spring/summer 2019 projects. But now the first trailer has landed for the film and it’ll definitely be interesting to break down aspects of it. While it dabbles in the dark about as much as you’d expect there isn’t the kind of “darkness” that has populated the previous DC films and the levity doesn’t feel quite as forced as before. There’s a cleaner look all around and I’m definitely feeling hopeful for this interpretation of the character.

The film is directed by James Wan  and will star Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Amber Heard as Mera, Patrick Wilson as Ocean Master, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, Nicole Kidman as Queen Atlanna, Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus and Ludi Lin as Murk.

Plot concept: The reluctant ruler of Atlantis, caught between a surface world constantly ravaging the sea and Atlanteans looking to lash out in revolt.
