Avex Pictures Schedules Original ‘Major’ Anime Series Blu-ray Box Sets

With the Major 2nd anime series out there, the original work is now about to find a new (and expensive) life on Blu-ray. The six seasons of the original work are being produced across six box sets beginning on July 20th, 2018 where they’ll each be priced at 18,000 yen. As the first two sets are about to hit we have some larger sized artwork available for it that definitely hits a sweet nostalgic tone! The first four seasons each have twenty-six episodes per set while the final two seasons have twenty-five episodes per set. That’s a lot of show being released very quickly this year for fans who have long wanted some quality box sets.

That original manga series ran for sixteen years between 1994 and 2010 from Takuya Mitsuda where it produced seventy-eight volumes to its name and over fifty million copies sold. And, of course, a couple hundred anime episodes and a few films.

Plot concept: The story of Major follows the life of Goro Honda, from kindergarten to being a professional baseball player, seeking and overcoming tremendous challenges.
