Frontwing Reveals ‘Grisaia: Phantom Trigger’ Anime Plans

With three volumes in the visual novel series released previously, the reveal hit last summer that an anime adaptation for Grisaia: Phantom Trigger is in the works. Still apparently set for a 2018 debut, Frontwing revealed an English subtitled version of the previously released trailer at Anime Expo. The company revealed that an English language site has gone live and they’re doing a Kickstarter for people to get in on taking preorders through it for the Blu-ray release campaign that should start by December. The minimum buy-in for it is $99 which gets you the first two feature-length episodes.

The show is still intended to be streamed on various platforms with a simultaneous worldwide debut planned for this year.

Akio Watanabe being on board as the character designer and chief animation director. Bibury Animation Studio will be handling the production on the series. It’s expected that the visual novel cast will reprise their roles and that includes:

  • Kaori Nazuka as Sakurako Christina Kujirase
  • Atsumi Tanezaki as Ikoma Murasaki
  • Mikako Izawa as Shiori Arisaka

  • Suzuko Mimori as Megumi Kumashiro
  • Juri Nagatsuma as Sylvia
  • Chiaki Omigawa as Velvet

Plot Concept: Grisaia: Phantom Trigger takes place after the existing Grisaia trilogy, and features a completely new group of heroines as well as a new protagonist. The story follows a class of students at Mihama Academy, which has been converted by anti-terror organization CIRS into a “specialist training school” for a new generation of operatives.
