In a move that must confound some old time purists that are still out there, dubs are driving people toward streaming services these days as something unique that can be offered to subscribers. HIDIVE has been moving into getting some shows dubbed close to the simulcasts and their work with Sentai Filmworks now has several more series that will end up on the service eventually. While no details in terms of dates, casting, or production information were revealed, Sentai Filmworks did confirm they are producing dubs for:
- Real Girl
- My Girlfriend is a Shobitch
- Tada Never Falls in Love
- Takunomi
- UQ Holder
Real Girl: Tsutsui Hikari is an otaku, and he mostly avoids social life. Hikari has only one friend at school, who is also a social misfit, and he is mocked brutally by most of his classmates for being creepy and weird. One day, he ends up having to clean the school pool with Igarashi Iroha, who appears to be pretty much everything he hates in real-life girls. She skips school, has a blunt manner, doesn’t have female friends, and seems the sort to be promiscuous. However, she is friendly to Hikari, and even stands up to the people who make fun of him. Hikari’s bitterness and trust issues lead him to say pretty harsh things to Iroha, but she never dismisses him as creepy. After a while, it starts to look like Iroha may become his first real-life, 3D girlfriend! Will he be able to handle it?
My Girlfriend is a Shobitch: After Shinozaki Haruka confesses to the Class Rep, Kousaka Akiho, he comes to find that the perfect class representative might be a little bit harder to handle than he previously thought!
Tada Never Falls in Love: Mitsuyoshi Tada, a boy who has never known love, is taking pictures of the cherry blossoms in full bloom when he meets Teresa Wagner, a transfer student from Luxembourg. Upon arriving in Japan, she got lost and separated from her travel companion. Mitsuyoshi helps her and brings her to his grandfather’s coffee shop.
Takunomi: Takunomi follows the story of Michiru Amatsuki, a 20-year-old woman who just moved to Tokyo to change jobs. She lives in apartment 101 of Stella House Haruno, an all-female boarding house. There, she meets other women of different ages, jobs, and personalities. They all have something in common though: their love for good food and drinks.
UQ Holder: Negi Springfield, the boy wizard of the hit manga Negima!, fought and won many battles. Now it is decades later and Negi’s grandson(!), a little boy named Touta, dreams of leaving his quiet village and heading to the City. But first he must defeat his teacher… the immortal vampire, Evangeline! Witness the dramatic beginning of a futuristic battle fantasy!
