The BookScan finalized rankings for the month of May 2018 has landed and it’s definitely another manga heavy month as it claims half of the top twenty, down one from how many slots it claimed last month. The comics side hit things up really well for Marvel Comics with a rare top spot win for Infinity Gauntlet, but that whole Avengers: Infinity War film might have helped that some. Marvel also made some good positioning with the Infinity War book itself and Black Panther for its slots. DC Comics had another weak trade month with Batman and Watchmen holding two slots.
Image Comics was pretty dominant in slots a couple of years ago but this month they’ve got two with Saga and The Walking Dead charting.
On the manga side, Viz Media is the only manga publisher with slots and it’s the big titles with several volumes of My Hero ACademia and Tokyo Ghoul eating things up with a little One Piece and RWBY mixing in.
