NBC Universal Japan Schedules ‘Dual! Parallel Trouble Adventure’ SDBD Anime Release

2 min read

Dashing some hopes for a full high definition release, NBC Universal Japan has scheduled a standard definition Blu-ray release for the 1999 anime series Dual! Parallel Trouble Adventure. The distributor has planned an October 11th, 2018 debut for it priced at 10,700 yen. It’ll feature the full fourteen episode run of the series on a single disc in its original Japanese language only and as of this writing has not listed any extras with it yet.

The property was originally licensed in North America by Pioneer Entertainment and saw a VHS release in 2000 and then a DVD release in 2003.

The series was directed by Katsuhiko Akiyama based on the series composition by Yousuke Kuroda. Atsushi Okuda worked on the character designs and served as the chief animation director with AIC handling the animation.

The Japanese cast includes Takayuki Yamaguchi as Kazuki Yotsuga, Ai Uchikawa as D, Chie Nakamura as Yayoi Schwael, Kenichi Ogata as Hiroshi Rara, Masako Nozawa as Reika Nanjoin, Megumi Toyoguchi as Mitsuki Rara, Mika Doi as Ayuko Rara, Rie Tanaka as Mitsuki Sanada, Ryunosuke Ohbayashi as Ken Sanada, and Yūko Kobayashi as Akane Yamano.

The English language adaptation was directed by Joe Romersa for Animaze and the cast includes Jeremiah Freedman as Kazuki Yotsuga, Aline Leslie as Reika Nanjoin, Barbara Goodson as Akane Yamano, Diva West as Ayuko Rara, G. Gordon Baer as Hiroshi Rara, Georgette Rose as Mitsuki Sanada, Katie Ashley as D, Sparky Thornton as Ken Senada, and Wendee Lee as Mitsuki Rara.

Plot Concept: Kazuki Yotsuga is your regular average nerd in high-school, except he isn’t smart. He has this website which relates to his visions that only he can see. His visions are about robots who keep fighting each other battle after battle. One day he is sent to a “parallel world” where these visions exist and he joins a company to fight back against the devious RaRa, who want to take over the world.
