Just about a month ago the folks at AnimEigo revealed that they’re planning to bring out a standard edition version of the Bubblegum Crisis OVA series on Blu-ray with plans for it to arrive this fall. That’s now been formally scheduled with it showing up at retailers and AnimEigo where it’s set for a September 25th, 2018 release priced at $39.99.
After putting together an expansive ultimate edition several years ago that got them really into the Kickstarter format, a simpler version (amusingly nicknamed the Hi-def Disctopia) will be a lot more accessible for the more casual fans that may have missed out on a great show. The plan looks to be that it’ll have the eight episodes on a single BD50 disc with the music videos and image galleries.
