“Welcome Party and Water Gun”

What They Say:
The protagonist of the “lucky pervert” harem manga is a girl?! Natsuno Hanabi is returning to her home in the countryside for the first time in six years to attend high school. She was expecting to live in the luxurious Tachibana Manor… but due to an error, she ends up in the run-down apartment building Tachibana House. On her very first day there, she encounters a mysterious naked girl, witnesses an older girl in an embarrassing moment, and even ends up face-to-face with an embarrassing view of her close friend from childhood. And… she doesn’t see any of this as “lucky” at all, okay?! less

The Review:
Content: (please note that content portions of a review may contain spoilers)
The wacky factor of this series continues to be its drawn, in addition to the fanservice side of it all with what they’re doing. Mitsui’s now being drawn into living at the house and that means it’s time for a welcoming party down by the river where a water gun survival game is put into play. There are some fun prizes that get them all on board pretty easily when they might not otherwise. Yuu’s desire to have all this happen makes it pretty chaotic but it’s fun as it shifts between normal and chibi and everyone does their best in their own weird way. Naturally, it plays up the fanservice in normal sized mode pretty well – even faux widescreen – in order to show off some of the girls’ assets.

In Summary:
This episode leans into the fanservice pretty well but it complements it with a lot of silly humor and general fun with the water gun fight. Obvious sexuality is obvious but it works in the context of a series like this. The cast has come together well and with he house pretty full at this point the shenanigans should be pretty amusing going forward. It’s the right kind of light sexy romp that I had hoped the project would be for a short.

Grade: B
