Fourth ‘Star Trek’ Film Gets S.J. Clarkson As Director

1 min read

With Star Trek Beyond not quite living up to expectations and things feeling uncertain as we move further past the 50th anniversary of the franchise, the next feature film is slowly moving forward. While we have word that there are two films that are in the works with Quentin Tarantino going forward with some R-Rated project, the mainline side is getting its next installment with the reveal the British director S.J. Clarkson will be helming it and marking the first time a woman has helmed a feature Trek film.

Clarkson has a lot of TV credits to her name with Jessica Jones and Orange is the New black while also wrapping up the film Collateral recently for Netflix.

There aren’t a lot of details regarding this project yet as can be expected but the main cast is said to be coming back and it’ll have a larger role for Chris Hemsworth who had a cameo in the 2009 film that launched this timeline as Kirk’s father.
