New ‘Cells at Work’ Anime Character Designs Revealed

The news earlier this year that the Cells at Work manga series from Akane Shimizu that’s being released domestically by Kodansha Comics was up for an anime adaptation is continuing to reveal some new details for the summer 2018 shows that arrives in July. After getting the main burst of casting news previously and four new additions this week, those four now have tiny visuals of what they’ll look like as you can see below.

The previously announced Japanese cast includes:

  • Tomoaki Maeno as White Blood Cell (Neutrophil)
  • Kana Hanazawa as Red Blood Cell (Erythrocite)
  • Kikuko Inoue as Macrophage
  • Daisuke Ono as Killer T Cell
  • Maria Naganawa as Platelet
  • Takahiro Sakurai as Helper T Cell (T Lymphocyte)
  • Saori Hayami as Regulatory T Cell
  • M.A.O as Eosinophil
  • Nobuhiko Okamoto as Dendritic Cell

The series is directed by Kenichi Suzuki based on the series composition by Yuuko Kakihara. Takahiko Yoshida is handling the character design and serving as the chief animation director with the animation produced by David Production.

The manga began in winter 2015 and has five volumes released so far.
