The winter 2018 anime series Violet Evergarden is having its home video releases handled by Pony Canyon and they’ve set the schedule for it. The fourteen episode series is getting a four-volume release beginning on April 4th, 2018 and we’ve now got a look at the packaging design, which is pretty elaborate, for it. The first and third DVDs are priced at 8,200 yen each while the second and fourth are priced at 8,400 yen with a 3/4 episode layout. The Blu-ray’s are laid out the same but priced at 9,200 yen and 9,800 yen respectively.
Taichi Ishidate directed it with Akiko Takase serving as the character designer and chief animation director. Reiko Yoshida is handling the series composition. The Japanese cast includes Takehito Koyasu as Claudia Hoggins, Daisuke Namikawa as Gilbert Bougainvillea, Aya Endou as Cattleya Baudelaire, Kouki Uchiyama as Benedict Blue, Haruka Tomatsu as Iris Canary, and Minori Chihara as Erica Brown.
TRUE will be performing the opening theme “Sincerely” for it and Chihara will be performing the ending theme song “Michishirube” and it was revealed that Haruka Fujita will be handling the series direction.
The light novel came from writer Kana Akatsuki and had illustrations by Akiko Takase.
Plot Concept: “Auto Memories Doll.” It’s already been a long time since that name was first popularized. It’s a machine that Dr. Orlando created that talks in a natural voice. At first, he only made it to help out his loving wife, but before long they spread out into the world. and companies were made to lend them out. “I’m Violet Evergarden, the Auto Memories Doll who will rush to provide service anywhere you wish.“ That translucent voice comes from a robotic beautiful girl with blonde hair and blue eyes like she came out of a storybook.
