“Spying and Sleeping Together”

What They Say:
The protagonist of the “lucky pervert” harem manga is a girl?! Natsuno Hanabi is returning to her home in the countryside for the first time in six years to attend high school. She was expecting to live in the luxurious Tachibana Manor… but due to an error, she ends up in the run-down apartment building Tachibana House. On her very first day there, she encounters a mysterious naked girl, witnesses an older girl in an embarrassing moment, and even ends up face-to-face with an embarrassing view of her close friend from childhood. And… she doesn’t see any of this as “lucky” at all, okay?! less

The Review:
Content: (please note that content portions of a review may contain spoilers)
With a rough start to her life in the hom, Natsuno has stumbled from one bad situation to another like any good harem leading character. This episode focuses on her and Iori together after they spent some time in an awkward semi-naked embrace and Natsuno is trying to understand her. Hanging out with her didn’t help much and some minor spying on her ended up just about the same. Unfortunately, she doesn’t get to focus on that for too long as a group hang turns into a session where most everyone tries to feel her up except for Iori since she’s barfing from drinking too much. What’s amusing is that it’s Iori that’s worried that Natsuno may not like her and that has them sleeping together – innocently – for a night in order to be more comfortable with each other. Of course, Iori’s far too comfortable around everyone and that’s just leading to more trouble…

In Summary:
Love to Lie Angle continues to feel like a show that needs to be twice as long in order to not feel so rushed and cramped. It needs a little more breathing space in order to work better, though I’ll certainly admit I’m enjoying it for all its silliness and sexual tomfoolery. It’s not a high end show but it’s playful and silly as it puts Natsuno through her paces in a way that a male lead would get as well but would feel different. It’s a fun way to pass a few minutes and just grin at the craziness of it all.
