With the second anime season finishing up last year and the main manga a well, November saw the debut of the Himouto! Umaru-chan G series from SankakuHead as a sequel work. According to the latest Weekly Shonen Jump update, however, the series will be ending with the next issue due out on April 19th, 2018. It hasn’t had any compiled volumes brought out yet so it’ll likely be done in one oversized volume or two quick hit volumes when it does wrap up.
The anime adaptation of SankakuHead’s manga series was directed by Masahiko Ohta based on the scripts by Takashi Aoshima along with character designs by Aya Takano and was produced at Dogakoba. Ohta, Aoshima and sound director Yasunori Ebina all worked together on Yuruyuri and a few of them on Kotoura-san.
The main cast includes Aimi Tanaka as Umaru Doma, Yurina Furukawa as Sylphynford Tachibana, Haruka Shiraishi as Kirie Motoba, Akari Kageyama as Nana Ebina, Kenji Nojima as Taihei Doma, Tetsuya Kakihara as Alex, Hiroki Yasumoto as Bonba and Ami Koshimizu as Kano.
The original manga series has twelve volumes to its name. That property has been running since 2013 in Weekly Young Jump until it finished in 2017.
