The ICv2 site has revealed the base level data for what was selling in bookstores for adult graphic novels through the month of March 2018. As we’ve seen in these charts in the past, a lot of folks getting attention through social media or working their own projects and promoting there are making some strong sales, such as Mari Andrew’s Am I There Yet? The Loop-de-Loop, Zigzagging Journey to Adulthood that she was able to promote on her Instagram to almost 800,000 followers. That earned the book a second place position behind the latest Walking Dead volume that almost invariably tops the charts when released.
With Black Panther having done so well in theaters, Marvel makes out with three of those books in the top twenty while the publisher also got a new lease on life with Infinity Gauntlet ahead of the new Avengers film. DC Comics had a very quiet period this time around as only the Green Lantern: Earth One book charted for them.
On the manga side, Viz Media dominates with ten volumes ranking including more Zelda and One-Punch man in the top five while My Hero Academia continues to do well as does Boruto and Splatoon. Kodansha Comics got a new Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card in the mix this week as well. Seven Seas Entertainment had one in the charts with Monster Musume coming in at number 9.
