Sometimes a series is announced just before it debuts which is always surprising since it’s just out of the blue. Madhouse has done that with the official site opening for Wakaokami wa Shogakusei!, which translates as The young landlady is an elementary school student!. The series is set for an April 8th, 2018 premiere on TV Tokyo. The key visual has landed with it as well as a promotional video. Azumi Tani and Miysuyuki Masuhara are directing it based on the series composition by Michiko Yokote. Akiko Asaki is handling the character design and Madhouse is handling the animation production.
The Japanese cast includes Seiran Kobayashi as Oriko “Okko” Seki, Etsuko Kozakura as Suzuki, Masaki Terasoma as Kōnosuke “Kō-san” Minoda, Nana Mizuki as Matsuki Akino, Satsumi Matsuda as Makoto “Uri-bō” Tachiuri, Teiyu Ichiryusai as Etsuko Tajima, and Youko Asagami as Mineko Seki.
Plot Concept: The story centers around Oriko “Okko” Seki, a sixth-grade elementary school girl. After loosing her parents in a sudden traffic accident, she moves to her grandmother Mineko’s hot spring inn “Haru no Ya.” Because of a ghost boy Uribo who has lived there for 60 years, she starts her training as “Wakaokami” (Young Landlady) of the inn.
