What They Say:
As Seiji and Nicholas struggle with their living arrangement, the competition heats up.

Content: (please note that content portions of a review may contain spoilers):
Nicholas and Seiji clash as soon as they meet again. While refusing to be roommates, they are forced to make due until they can talk to the coach. Despite a line and a barrier down the middle of the room, they can’t seem to stop talking to each other about why they are both at the same place.

Due to a bit of upperclassman bullying, Nicholas finds himself late to the first day of fencing practice. While Seiji is the freshman with all the attention, Nicholas knows that he has to make the team in order to keep his scholarship. While the rest of the team is introduced, so is Coach Williams. And while Nicholas isn’t used to fencing in such an environment, Coach Williams reminds everyone that teams, not a single person, win championships.

In Summary:
The second issue of this comic is even better than the first. This issue dives in a little more into the story and with new characters and their backgrounds. It quickly gives the reader the notion of being invested. The way the story is paced and introduced, I’m definitely craving more. Though it’s a disappointment when the issue is read and done, it’s a huge reassurance to know that this series has been greenlit for more.

Specifically, I like the character designs and the dialogue. I’m a huge fan of characters having depth and this is a comic that excels at it. As a bit of a side character, I love Bobby, especially their “vision”. I hope to see more of them! Read the comic and see what I mean. I also like the extra at the end showing Nicholas poor report card and a bit more insight to what is going on behind the scenes. I am also very happy that the coach is a woman of color. There are so many good things in this comic, that I would highly recommend it to anyone!
