The winter 2018 anime series Hakumei to Mikochi is having its home video release handled by Media Factory and they’ve gone for the box set approach. The twelve episode series is getting two box sets brought out on April 25th, 2018 and June 27th, 2018 where each will have six episodes. The DVD sets are priced at 16,000 yen and the Blu-ray box sets at 18,000 yen each.
The show has Masaomi Andou directing based on the series composition by Reiko Yoshida. Tomoko Iwasaw worked on the character design and served as the chief animation direction with Mayuka Itou. With Studio Lerche handling the animation, the main cast includes Risae Matsuda as Hakumei, Shino Shimoji as Mikochi, Aoi Yuuki as Conju, Chika Anzai as Sen, and Masaya Matsukaze as Iwashi.
The original manga comes from Takuto Kashiki that began in 2011 with five volumes released so far as it’s an ongoing property.
Plot Concept: Nine centimeters tall, the tiny girls Hakumei and Mikochi live in the forest. Living in a tiny house in a tree, riding insects and birds, and making umbrellas out of leaves, these tiny girls live a tiny life. Follow their tiny but lovely lives as they live their day to day in a fantastic world of tiny people and gods.
