One show that Crunchyroll has been doing some solid promotion for is that of Yuru Camp as they’ve got a number of new clips available for it. The streaming service is putting together some fun and easy to share pieces with five of them now added that gives us a taste of the camping itself, the fun of hot-pot, and a good feeling for the characters themselves with their personalities.
Crunchyroll previously set its simulcast plans formalized with the series localized as Laid-Back Camp that began on January 4th, 2018 at 10:30 am ET for their members with new episodes arriving weekly at the same time. Availability for it is strong as it’s open to viewers worldwide outside of Asia.
Yoshiaki Kyougoku will be directing it based on the series composition by Jin Tanaka. C-Station will be handling the animation.
The Japanese cast includes Nao Touyama as Rin Shima, Yumiri Hanamori as Nadeshiko Kagamihara, Sayuri Hara as Chiaki Oogaki, Aki Toyosaki as Aoi Inuyama, Rie Takahashi as Ena Saitou, Marina Inoue as Sakura Kagamihara, and Akio Ootsuka as the narrator.
The manga began in May 2015 and has three volumes out so far in Japan while Yen Press has picked up the series for North American release beginning in 2018.
Plot Concept: Nadeshiko, a high school student who had moved from Shizuoka to Yamanashi, decides to see the famous, 1000 yen-bill-featured Mount Fuji. Even though she manages to bike all the way to Motosu, she’s forced to turn back because of worsening weather. Unable to set her eyes on her goal, she faints partway to her destination. When she wakes up, it’s already night, in a place she has never been before, with no way of knowing how to get home. Nadeshiko is saved when she encounters Rin, a girl who is out camping by herself. Together they gather around a crackling fire to warm themselves up, absorbed with the quiet of their lakeside spot. As they slurp on curry noodles cooked on an open flame, the moment they’re waiting for eventually comes.
“Look… Mount Fuji.”
This outdoorsy girls story begins with this first encounter between Nadeshiko and Rin.
